Everyone seems to say they like the band, - actually there are 4 or 5 bands rotating (here, and at Chasers TST & Dusk Till Dawn - all owned by the same people).
All the bands are competent, some more exciting than others, some a little \'played out\'\'
Most sound bettter after a few beers.... :roll

One of my old haunts - the credit card would sit behind the bar for hours on end... (Especially back when Red Rose was in town.)
Voluptuous manager Stef runs a tight ship, with a firm but gentle hand, and business there seems good for them - it gets busy and packed on weekends with lots of dancing bodies packed into the little space in front of the stage.
Two bars, one out front and one right at the back. Lots of seats - if you can get one before the crowds get there..! A \"balcony\" area to people-watch right up front, if that\'s your thing. Weekends see the street closed to traffic, for all the pedestrians waving their drinks around!
As was pointed out, this is the 3rd sister in this little family, behind Dusk \'til Dawn (in Wanchai) and Chasers (up in Knutsford Terrace, TST). \'Tis true, the bands are rotated through the 3 locations - keeps things sort of fresh, in a way. Between sets, you\'ve got a good DJ
Since the Millenium, I\'ve been frequenting many other places, so I only stop in occasionally; it\'s still a nice place to go, but perhaps my tastes have changed -- I\'m more likely to go there for an after-work drink than for a weekend night out.
The staff are always friendly, and service is very good. Don\'t get upset if you wait a while for drinks - when it\'s packed, even the staff have a tough time getting through the crowds! (Sit closer to the bar!)
They serve food, and what I\'ve sampled was pretty good. Dinner after work? A decent choice, especially if you\'re looking for something different.
Definitely worth a look, and stay a while. :grin

My usual Friday nights out on the town are usually a pleasant affair. We have a bunch of lively local bars that we hit and, unless it is unusually fiendish, we usually end up at Pure House at the Beijing Club to have a bit of a boogie before calling it a night. Last weekend was different. A very good friend of ours was leaving Hong Kong after 6 years to follow continue her studies at University in London and as a parting farewell we had decided to venture out of our normal routine and do the normal tourist highlights. We started the night in Azure drinking and chatting and all was going well even though the music was at an obnoxious level. So we venture down the hill, hit a few bars and continue our drinking: lots of friends, lots of alcohol and lots of fun. For boogie time take a gamble with Fong Underground. What a mistake. With a big bunch of ladies and gent, they made the guys pay to get in as long as they had a lady in tow. As soon as we got in we were hounded to buy drinks. At this point a couple of us were quite well oiled and in need of a breather. Having one or two people declined to buy a drink right away, they proceed to get the security guard and then the floor manager to harass us to buy a drink. What made it worse was that they weren?t even polite about it. After five minutes of quarrelling and trying to reason with the staff we decided to take the whole group of 15+ which left the club empty. The next wrong move in our LKF saga came at Insomnia. A hotspot for Hong Kongers and tourists alike, the live band venue seems to have employed the rudest staff that they can find, again, we were harassed as soon as we walked onto the premises and pushed and shoved as waitresses glared you down until you had decided which drink to have. Once in the venue the small, cramp sweaty dance floor was no relief and many of us swiftly left. I have to say that it was probably one of the most unpleasant drinking experiences I have had in a long time and the rudeness of the LFK staff really put a dampener on the night for many of us?.I can say that Fong Underground and Insomnia are well and truly stuck in my ?bars never to go again? list.
