The first Asian RnB superstar has finally come to shine! Born in the UK, Jay Sean has been taken as the Asian Craig David. With a voice that’s as slick as David’s, and the charisma that works just as good, Jay Sean mixes his love for RnB and Hip-hop with his root – India. The outcome? One of the biggest tunes for this summer – Eyes On You! From the UK to HK, we give you the hot new interview with Jay Sean!
J: Jay Sean
A: Alyson for HKClubbing.com
A: How are you doing?
J: I’m all good! I’m all good. Not too bad, enjoying the nice British weather for once!
A: So you’re in the UK right now then! How are things going there?
J: Not too bad, it’s been pretty crazy, because I’ve been wrapping up my album, which is out in like a month’s time now. So you know we’re just trying to get things going and moving, and as efficiently as we can, coz it’s kinda mad by this time of the year.
A: Sure. Now you, as the first Asian RnB singer to break-through, how’s that like?
J: God, that’s crazy man, I mean, I used to say this five years ago, when I used to go clubbing with my mates, and it’s obviously RnB and hip-hop clubs I used to go to. I used to look around and I think, “There’s so many Asian faces, and it’s like, man, we love this music, we love RnB and hip-hop, yet there’s not a single one of us doing it!â€

It\'s a pity that the real stars of the Asian Underground scene are not acknowledged. Although artists like Jay Sean should be respected from making the music masses aware of how strong an influence asian culture has over music. these days, he is still not an ambassador of his genre. Artists like Nitin Sawhney, Karsh Kale, the Dum Dum Project, Bobby Friction, Tigerstyle, and the Asian Dub Foundation are just a few of the artists who have either pioneered the popular asian underground style, or have been a massive aid to it\'s expansion.
