Dan Castro Biography
Dan Castro started producing just over two years ago and has since attracted the attention of some of the World's Biggest House Artists including Laidback Luke, Axwell, Tiesto, David Guetta, Pete Tong (Radio 1 Support), Mark Knight, Roger Sanchez, Paul Van Dyk, Carl Cox, Riva Starr, Chuckie, MYNC, Dirty Vegas & Many more.
In part, the diversity of this support can be put down to the eclectic range of sounds that Dan produces. Not sticking to one genre of house, Dan experiments and touches on everything from Sampled House to Big Room to Disco, Techno, Progressive or driving Tech House. This was one of the reasons why he was recently discovered by Cr2 Records A&R who found his music on a blog after reaching the Beatport genre Top 10 with his first release the 'Disco B*tch EP'...
Since this point, Dan has gone on to enjoy consistent success in the Beatport charts, reaching Number 6 in the Overall Beatport Chart with his track 'High Tide' (Cr2 Records) and reaching the Beatport genre Top 10 on multiple occasions with the help of tracks such as 'Eastern Ensemble' and in 2010 (his first year of releases), he enjoyed success as an Essential Contender on Pete Tong's Radio 1 show with Pete touting Dan's remix of 'The Mistress' a 'Future Anthem In The Making'. He has already had six plays on Pete Tong's show of his newer material in 2011. In addition to this, he has acquired the support off the National UK Radio, Capital FM and featured on David Guetta's Radio show, Tiesto's 'Club Life' Radio Show (Tiesto playing two tracks of Dan's in one of his shows!) and Radio FG.
However, Dan does not see himself as just a Producer, but a DJ before all of this and due to his success, has managed to climb onto the international circuit in 2010 already playing gigs in Sweden, Paris, Lille, Ibiza (Space), Amsterdam, Croatia, London, Indonesia and so on and enjoys playing a variety of genres, utilising many of his own personal Bootlegs and Re-edits for his gigs. He is also set to play his first gig for Ministry of Sound in Hong Kong in July 2011.
As a result of his hard work in 2010, Dan was personally asked by Laidback Luke to play at his Super You&Me party at the O2 arena in London alongside Luke, Bart B More & Wolfgang Gartner on the main stage. Other highlights for 2010 include being featured on CD1 on Paul Van Dyke's compilation and also having tracks on the Space, Ibiza album and numerous Cr2 Records compilations as well as Chuckie's 'Dirty Dutch Fallout' CD.
2011 has already got off to an amazing start with his Re-edit of Martin Solveig's 'Hello' charting at Number two on the Capital FM club chart, only behind Avicii and has since featured on Capital FM for four consecutive weeks, in addition to this, he has already remixed for the likes of Sebastien Drums, Avicii, Wynter Gordon, Dragonette, Don Diablo and Mavis Acquah and has worked with Errol Reid on a Brand New track forthcoming in Summer 2011. Dan is also working with Chuckie, Ron Carroll and MYNC on a brand new Miami track which will be out soon.
Dan's tour schedule is due to take him to Miami for the first time in March to play alongside artists such as Chuckie, Yolanda Be Cool, Tristan Garner, Sebastien Drums, MYNC, DONS etc at the Cr2 party and the Workmachine Label party (Sebastien Drums' Label).
