Pioneer DJ Quest 08 Semi Finals

Come join the 10 Pioneer DJ Quest semi-finalists, at will Evisu Bar as they battle it out for a place in the final (coming soon in September). Thursday 21st August, 8pm till midnight. Evisu Bar, 2/F The Workst@tion, 43 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central. Channel (V) film crew, two hours of free Becks and Jager (whilst stocks last) and great tunes! Each DJ will play a 20 minute set, using Pioneer equipment CDJ in front of the panel of industry expert judges.

DJ Forest – 2007 Pioneer DJ Quest winner, Asia

Alex Playsted, aka DJ Forest first won DJ Quest in Hong Kong, then went over to Malaysia and kicked ass – to win the Asian DJ Quest Final at Zouk. DJ Forest is loved for his support of quality no bull sh*t music. He is one half of the Dumb Boat Ninja crew and father to the exciting new party series HETEROgENIUS. Having played throughout China and Hong Kong, and with several residencies, DJ Forest is one to watch and destined for godliness. Check him out at Heterogenius @ Avenue,coming soon.

DJ Yin – Music Director, Club No. 9 and Beijing Club Judged the winner of the Hong Kong Heineken Found at Thirst DJ

Competition by Paul Oakenfold in 2002, and Heineken Thirst Asia semi-finalist in Malaysia (KL). A musician, career DJ, Music Director, music producer and label founder, Futurebeat. DJ Yin has played alongside a number of international DJs including Paul Oakenfold, Seb Fontaine, James Lavelle, Hyper, Danniele Davoil, Tayo to name a few.

DJ Jason F – Creative Director, Entertainment International Ltd. Jason is a long time promoter in Hong Kong, and has played alongside some of the greatest names in dance music. From large scale concerts to dance music events – Jason has it covered. DJ Jason F has played with the greats, including Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, John Digweed, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Carl Cox, Deep Dish, Marus Shurltz, Hernan Cattaneo, Eddie Halliwell, Marco V, Daft Punk (Daft Crew), Basement

Jaxx, The Crystal Method, Q-Bert. Nuff said!

DJ Ricky Stone – DJ magazine top 100 DJ, three years running!

Hong Kong’s most reputed DJ talent, and regular top 100 DJ in DJ magazines world renowned rankings, DJ Ricky Stone knows his beats and bleeps. In Asia as part of his world tour, DJ Ricky Stone is a welcome addition to the DJ Quest judging panel. A music producer, founder of 852 recordings, and tour DJ – Ricky Stone has done it all, including playing at some of the leading clubs in the world – Fantazia, Eclipse, Ministry of Sound and the Cross. DJ Doze – Music Director, M1NT

When it comes to competitions, DJ Doze has it covered. His mixing and scratching abilities brought him to be first runner up at the World DJ Championship (2002) and finalist at the Vestax DJ World Championship in Japan (2000). He can beat juggle with one hand, blindfolded. DJ DOZE has been producing albums, playing for radios and TV channels, creating DVD's of mixing and scratching lessons and playing in clubs all over the world. Known as a turntable master, he performed at various live concert for music artists such as R.Kelly (US - R'nB), Kool Shen (France - Rap), Diam's (France - Rap).
