Promoters

People keep complaining about this and that about events.
That promoters are either not doing enough or not caring since the money isnt coming in...
So my question is what do you think the promotors are missing out?

"Are they not bringing enough big names?"

"They dont advertize well enough?"

"Sh-it venues?"

There are tonnes of examples....
But if you could reccomend one thing to the hard-working promotors what would you advise them to do?

(BTW this isnt anyone specific.... this is here to get people discussing what need to be sorted out, and if fixed more revenue for you guys anyway)

Personally, I ve seen no major flyer give out or any "super"-deals, not enough big names and deffinately no unusual venues such as beach events...

I would advise that all promotors answer to every post comments made here, so that the forumites can see that you guys do "care"....

Oh well at least I tried... :smt002

Well, they are banning some bill boarding in some counties in and various councils in London, so that method will end soon.
In HK... to be honest I think it is word of mouth. A friend used to leave flyers in fashion shops and that kinda venues.
You never see people giving out flyers after the big parties, so I dont know what people are thinking really.
I think many venues are solely catering for their local crowds and not being adventorous and open-minded as they are in other nations.

there are loads of ways.

e.g. online, bars, clubs restaurants, 24hr joints, street flyering for example. There are hundreds of ways. Putting posters up is allowed just depends on where.

as long as i remembered they used to give out flyers after parties, and i am sure i have seen posters at causeway too. They have also tried to give out flyers at some local designer boutiques, but the shop is not that enthusiastic in telling people about this, it would be a good way if the event promoter can deal with those botiques like giving out free tickets when customers buy certain amount. this might encourages people who are not familiar with the scene to participate!
