Simian Mobile Disco – Remixed - Sample and Hold (Wichita Recordings)
It’s never always about the remix! As a DJ, I can vouch for that statement. However, there are some great tracks offered on this sexy promo CD that’s spinning in my computers cup-holder.
Being a house head, I look for groove and complementary detail with aspects like percussion, and I found some fantastic music on this album. Invisible Conga People’s remix of ‘I Got This Down’ has a very light, euphoric and gentle push, with a simple yet sophisticated feeling.
Overall, it was an aural pleasure listening to this album, and I highly recommend Joakim’s remix of ‘Huster’ and Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve Reanimation of ‘Love’.
