SLAM – Sci-Fi Hi-Fi 5 - Soma Recordings
I’ve decided to be overtly subjective in this review as the track listing really appealed to me. Record Label SOMA have gone back to the techno sound after reverting to what would be a more soulful and mellow sound with ‘Year Zero’.
With names like Loco Dice, Claude von Stroke and D’Julz making an appearance on the mix, you feel reassured that your delivery of naked techno sounds will arrive. And surely enough, they do so with style. Mauro Picotto makes remarkable return after a dry spell, with his track ‘Flashing’.
Although the waiting before take-off period is rather elongated, once we get to Anderson Noise’s ‘Londrina’, it all starts to make more sense.
This definitely goes in my pile for after-party mixes.
Enjoyment rating: 8/10
