yeah i left around 6 ish and saw this stream of people entering the club? did they still have to pay 350??
That would so burn if they did... but it could have been desperation since there was no other competing event happening nearby. Unless you count the Lashes event in SZ. I think that the promoters did a good job but I think that the venue was a tad bit small and what made it harder was that most tables either had people on them or the reserved sign on them.

Having never been to Joint 15 before in Causeway Bay i had no idea what to expect from the venue, but i was promised great visuals, Slinky decorations and so on. 10/10 for false promises. There were no Slinky decorations whatsoever, apart from the odd poster and stickers i saw posted everywhere. However i decided not to let that influence me and will give credit where it is due. The visuals were exceptional and really did transform the place. The venue was small but the visuals seemed to make you forget where you really were which was a good thing, coz when the lights did go on it looked like a typical karoke bar, so props deserved for the lighting crew.
Ricky Stone was the first DJ on when i arrived and i was impressed right from the start. This is a extremely polite and down to earth person who does know how to work a crowd. He didnt have long for his set but he made the most of it, playing an array of popular and well known tracks, unlike a lot of local dj's i have seen who think its fine to play a load of tunes that no one has ever heard before. That may work if your a top ten dj, but to the majority of the crowd they will never have seen you play before, so first impressions are everything. This was my first time seeing Ricky play and i must say that the next time he's got a gig in HK i will definatly check it out.
Now for the headline act: Dave Lea. This is the supposed Slinky Resident who has been flown all the way to Hong Kong to do a gig in a not so big venue in front of a crowd that has probably never even heard of him. Although he didnt have the same energy that Ricky Stone did, he did make up for it with a very varied tracklisting. I remember hearing 'PVD - For an Angel', 'Randy Katana - Aquarius and In Silence' and other well known club tracks. However, the set didnt really seem to go anywhere. There was any logical flow to his set, more like a jukebox playing with pre selected tracks.
Overall it was a good night. Visuals, Dj's, crowd were all very enthusiastic and that made up for the slightly 'over-hyped' event. But for the 'R n R' groups first party, it was very successful and i think most people would agree on that.
P.S. Why cant more venues have a re-entry policy like this one did??

To be honest I was bored and I had already started drinking earlier in the day.
I left around the 3 something as well. "Something" came up :smt007 :smt003 I left after Ricky played Scot Project's Overdrive .... I was surprised he played a hard choon as this, albeit playing it at 1/2 of my preferred speed.
The price is outrageous though.

Many thanks to all who came to the Slinky party in J15 on Sat nite!
The people who did enter late on around 5pm did not pay full price.
Dave did bring some slinky inflatables that were unfortunately too big for the venue, so sorry about that kids!
All in all it was a very good launch party and the feedback has been all very positive.
Dave had an great time and loved the venue. The over weight, buck rogers looking DJ had a blast too!
Cheers again!! :smt003
