The Absentee – Victory Shorts
Think of “The Magic numbers” slower tracks, give the lead singer a deeper, darker, huskier voice and you have The Absentee.  Helplessly romantic, “The Absentee have a really good thing going on in “Victory Shorts”. “Love has its way” is beautifully simple yet enchanting, “Spitting feathers” is soft, but melancholy and “*****” has an air of The Dandy Worhols charm.   The Absentee have made a great album and Victory Shorts would be great for long road trips or lazy afternoons doodling in your notebook.
