The Ting Tings Live in Hong Kong

The Ting Tings, one of the hottest new bands from the UK, are set to perform in Hong Kong for the first time early next year. The one-night only show, The Ting Tings Live in Hong Kong will be held on 3 February 2009 at HITEC – Star Hall.

Based in Manchester, The Ting Tings is formed by Katie White on vocals, guitar and bass drum and Jules De Martino on vocals, drums and electronics. Having been writing songs together for nearly four years, the duo was finally settled with the moniker The Ting Tings in 2007. From day one, the two decided to write music just for the sheer fun of it, which explains the impromptu sounds and DIY elements that are signature to their songs. Jules’s style is more experimental, playing around with his drum kit and effect boxes, whereas Katie is more pop-inclined. Such musical combination results in a string of energetic, catchy pop tunes that are experimental at the same time, injecting a breath of freshness to the pop scene.


The Ting Tings’ first single, Great DJ was launched in March 2008 to critics’ acclaim. The band released their début album We Started Nothing in May 2008 and went to No 1 in the UK chart and reached No 7 in the Billboard Top Heatseekers Chart. The second single, That’s Not My Name topped the UK chart as well.
