Appendix 2 – Land use
Yoyo Island is split into four distinct areas, each with its own specific functions:

1. Beach – Performances and competitions
This is the main performance area. A rotation of performance artists, musicians (bands and solo artists) along with dancers (B-boy Battle) and DJs provide entertainment to party-goers throughout the day. A catwalk fashion show features the latest in summer fashion. From 8pm on, electronic musicians play eclectic and diverse sets.

2. Café Del Mar – Grooving down-tempo
Themed “Cafe Del Mar,� this 3-storey club is housed inside a blanketed forest. A mix of DJs and live musicians play down-tempo styles ranging from mellow reggae to groovy hip-hop. This is a haven for those who want a reprieve from the general excitement on the rest of the island. Food is served here to coincide with the general theme of “Café Del Mar.�

3. Camp – Sleeping under the stars
As the general resting area, the space includes a food court where patrons may purchase food from rows of barbecued delicacies. This is also the area where patrons may set-up camp. Equipment may be rented for those who need it.

4. Sports Arena – Summer sun and fun
This is the active sports area. The area includes active sports and games such as beach volleyball, handball, water skiing, banana boating, as well as other water sports. Equipment is available and may be rented.

1. Quiksilver beachwear fashion show – Bikini is a fine excuse for showing off.

2. RA crew vs. SR crew (B-boy battle) – Power strangers with power moves? They’re for real!

3. Akkio vs. Mio (from Japan) (Reggae) – How international is SLP? Japanese. Rastas. HK.

4. Five Star (fire-poles and African dance) – Bet you’ve never seen this before.

Summer is the time when dreams are made. And summer dreams couldn’t be made without a beach festival, could it? How about a 24-hour frolic of beautiful people dancing to the best in Hong Kong music? And for those who crave sports, how about legions of speed-towed watercrafts that are waiting to thrill? It’s all here now at Summer Love Paradise 2006.

Bringing together the best in Hong Kong music under the sun, this summer festival is staged at Yoyo Island, an idyllic setting where memories and dreams are made. There, the water is blue and the sand fine, and with capacity enough to house over 3000+ music lovers on the beach alone, the beach is perfect for a blasting summer beach festival.

This year’s line-up dips from a diverse set of buzzing Hong Kong acts including soulful guitar rocker Ryan Hui (許懷欣), melodic punk rockers Hardpack, hip-hop rapper/producer Ghost Style, renowned funky tech technician DJ Jason F, veteran DJ David Lam, one of New York’s hip-hop finest DJ G, drum and bass collective Magnetic Soul, and experimental electronica collective Robot. Responsible for live visuals are VJs Voltage and Donkie.

Besides the music, the festival boasts a long list of entertainment shows that include a Quiksilver fashion show featuring the latest in beachwear, a free-style rap contest and a battle for the title of the best break dancing crews. While all this is going on, the event’s most enchanting aspect is the beach. It is open to those who want to enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer. Water sports equipments are available.

During the festival, Yoyo Island will be split into four distinct parts: the sandy Beach where performance takes place, a 3-storey concrete Café Del Mar which houses a VIP area and a chill-out lounge where musicians play down-tempo music, the tented Campground where one may feast on local delicacies and have a place to rest, and the shimmering Sports Arena for those who crave active sports.

今個夏天，Summer Love Paradise 2006絕對能帶給你開心難忘的回憶。豔陽之下，在水清沙幼的搖搖島，單是沙灘已可容納最少3000人，你可以一邊聽著本地流行音樂，一邊盡情玩樂！

今年的表演陣容有結他搖滾樂手許懷欣,punk搖滾樂手Hardpack, hip-hop繞舌歌手兼監製Ghost Style,著名funky tech DJ Jason F, 經驗豐富的DJ David Lam, 紐約最佳的hip-hop DJ之一 G, 鼓手兼低音樂器組合Magnetic Soul, 和實驗性電子樂組合 Robot。現場視覺效果由VJs Voltage和Donkie負責。

除了音樂娛樂，現場還有大量其他精彩節目，包括Quiksilver品牌花生騷示範新鮮熱辣的水著，不限形式的繞舌比賽（rap），和爭奪最佳霹靂舞組合的比賽。在這些精彩節目舉行的同時，還有令人著迷的沙灘，讓熱愛自由的你投入大自然的懷抱。現場有水上運動的設備供應。

搖搖島的場地會劃分為四部分以進行不同的節目：沙灘有表演；樓高三層的Café Del Mar設有尊尚區和有樂師演奏“緩拍â€�的休閒區；帳篷內則有大量美食供應，同時為你提供休息的地方；運動競技場則讓你大顯身手。

搖搖島劃分為四部分，各部分有不同的精彩節目。

1. 沙灘――表演
這是主要的表演場地，多位歌手，樂師（包括樂隊和獨唱），舞蹈員和DJ將會施展渾身解數輪流表演，為大家提供豐富的視聽娛樂。現場還有花生騷，即席示範新到夏日水著。由晚上８點開始，電子樂師會演奏不拘一格，風格迥義的音樂。

2. Café Del Mar――迷上“緩拍â€�
樓高三層，建築在帳篷森林內的Café Del Mar，讓你盡情享受音樂。場內有多位DJ及樂師現場演奏“緩拍â€�，由輕鬆愉快的雷鬼搖擺樂到至ＩＮ至潮的hip-hop都有，讓你陶醉在忘我的音樂世界。場內供應配合Café Del Mar主題的美食。

3. 營地――躺臥星空下――
這裏不僅是休息的地方，還有美食廣場，供應各類燒烤美食。參加者可在營地紮營，屆時有露營器具可供租用。

4. 運動競技場――夏日繽紛運動――
在這裏你可以投入刺激好玩的運動，包括沙灘排球，手球，滑水，香蕉船和其他水上運動。屆時有各種設備供參加者租用。

Glad to see that hk also joins the international scene for festivals during summer. Glad to see that it is made for us who want to enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer; sorry guys Mother Nature is not gonna offer you that for free.

I am a bit concerned about the one way ticket?!?! do we have to buy the return ticket 10 days in advance so we can enjoy one free drink (two for ladies)?
