May 1968 in France :

May 1968 is the name given to a series of protests and a general strike that caused the eventual collapse of the De Gaulle government in France. The vast majority of the protesters espoused left-wing causes, but the established leftist political institutions and labor unions distanced themselves from the movement. Many saw the events as an opportunity to shake up the "old society" in many social aspects and traditional morality, focusing especially on the education system and employment.

It began as a series of student strikes that broke out at a number of universities and lyc?es in Paris, following confrontations with university administrators and the police. The de Gaulle administration's attempts to quash those strikes by further police action only inflamed the situation further, leading to street battles with the police in the Latin Quarter, followed by a general strike by students and strikes throughout France by ten million French workers, roughly two-thirds of the French workforce. The protests reached the point that de Gaulle created a military operations headquarters to deal with the unrest, dissolved the National Assembly and called for new parliamentary elections for 23 June 1968.

The government was close to collapse at that point (De Gaulle had even taken temporary refuge at an airforce base in Germany), but the revolutionary situation evaporated almost as quickly as it arose. Workers went back to their jobs, after a series of deceptions carried out by the Conf?d?ration G?n?rale du Travail, the leftist union federation, and the Parti Communiste Fran?ais (PCF), the French Communist Party. When the elections were finally held in June, the Gaullist party emerged even stronger than before.

May '68 was a political failure for the protestors, but it had an enormous social impact. In France, it is considered to be the watershed moment that saw the replacement of conservative morality (religion, patriotism, respect for authority) with the liberal morality (equality, sexual liberation, human rights) . Although this replacement did not take place solely in this one month, the term mai 68 is used to refer to the shift in values, especially when referring to its most idealistic aspects.

Bio Stereoheroes :

What the **** is this name ? Who the **** are those peoples ?
First one knowed as Fab and the second one as Seb, both born in France.
During the day time, they?re some nice clean people hanging around us. But as soon as the night fall, they dress themself in costumes and run to rescue the world?s dying dancefloors. Their worst enemys ? Minimal .Their Mission if they accept it ? Burn the club & Make people Dance !
Their Supa power ? Fat BassLines, distorded synth, groovy beats, and simply furious DJ set !!!!
Everyday a new ennemy to fight everynight a new dancefloor to save !!!!
We could think that Stereoheroes duo is composed with Peter Parker & Clark Kent? We could also think of two big tall strong guys with clean haircut, or even a Super Nerd and a Super Beatmaker !!!
Under other I.D?s, other projects, you might have heard of those heroes living in the south of France, each of them traveling threw the night life of our life. Organising party, producing tracks shaped for the dancefloors, they give birth to stereoheroes with a unstopable force.
They put their laptops on, the place start to Rumble, few minutes after if the ? BadMood Heroes ? are not there the people start to shout and jump arround !
Full on !!! without concession, we are ?the opposite of Minimal music?, we keep a happy spirit and we are dedicated to the crowed.
Still proper when they?re split, our two friends won?t give up anytime time to the people living on the dancefloors.
After saving many party in the south of France, and in paris, Stereoheroes recently fly over the stratosph?re to sweden,(Stockholm), Germany(berlin), Norway(oslo), Seb is actually rocking Sydney(aus), the other one Fab is coming for the first time to rescue Hong kong the 24 may !!! and they will be joining toghether for the festival ? We Love sound ? in Sydney(aus) the 8 june.
Their Next release is a remix produce on a french label ? level 75 ? next may-june 2008 then they produce a Maxi coming out in june ? July 2008 for a label based in new York, to be continued ?

Press Stereoheroes :

-WE LOVE SOUND sydney june 2008 :

http://www.sounds.net.au/events/index.php

-NO LOVE LOST record :

"STEREOHEROES and their first batch of original Electro bangers have been popping up on many blogs over the past few weeks. With a sound that I can best describe as THE BLOODY BEETROOTS having a fight with an enraged BOYS NOIZE in a room full of helium, their relentless and fun sound is to put it mildly, addictive. For their No Love Lost mix, STEREOHEROES have whipped up fifty-five minutes of fidgety Electro House pandemonium, twisting twenty-one current club anthems with a couple of their own productions, in other words, class."

CITATIONS on famous blogs around the world :

-KIDZ FROM TRASHBAGS :

link : http://trashbagskids.blogspot.com/2008/03/stereoheroes-save-me.html

"These guys are heavy. I'm talking real heavy. When I heard their track Washout for the first time, I was immediately taken back to the days when I used to dance at raves.
Banging bass, fast and fun... But words really can't do Stereoheroes music any justice. It's something you gotta check for yourself.
And lucky you, these guys may be blessing our shores soon. Where? When? You'll just have to wait and see... There's a suprise in stall. I will let you in on a secret though. Stereoheroes will be saints and sinners at La La Land in April."

-MISSINGTOOF :

http://missingtoof.com/v2/2008/02/05/stereoheroes-washout-boom-slang-fin-fang-foom/
"Stereoheroes are French electro. They are part of the Electrochoc collective. Some of the songs are whimsically titled, but the beats are serious as cancer in a three piece suit. They come with that ol? rave sh*t to get your butt on the dancefloor. ?Nuff said."

-YOU CAN ME PELSKi :

http://ppelectro.blogspot.com/2008/02/back-to-bat-cave.html

"They're french electro - but at last, something to get really excited about. Their tracks are named after obscure comic-book characters, and sound like old-school rave anthems blended with upbeat chirpyness and cooler than cool vocal samples. All four of their tracks are pure gold."
-
THE CULTURE OF ME :

http://www.thecultureofme.com/culture/2008/03/emerging-stereo.ht

"What the **** is up with France these days?! We mean, it's like, eternally **** awesome. Three, four years ago? Nope. Now? Holy ****. Justice, Uffie, SebastiAn, Alan Braxe, Dimitri. Pretty much anyone who may or may not have slept over at the Ed Banger Records offices once or twice is on your radar.
Add Stereoheroes to that lineage. These kids are **** bonkers, sending the culture of me this ridiculously intense, overwhelmingly positive mixtape they compiled for the NLLR (No Love Lost Records) people, which by the way has also featured the immense talents of Bloody Beetroots, AC Slater, Ocelot and Brodinski.
Okay, okay. Enough name dropping. Just click the songs, close your eyes, and bang your **** head. Sit up, get down."

-BIRTHDAY PARTY BERLIN :

link : http://www.birthdaypartyberlin.com/?p=120

"StereoHeroes pretty much put together all the best parts of the music we love! Our celebrity DJ Sly1 (also French!) pointed out this duo yesterday and they turn out to also be super-friendly as well!"

-EARGASIMS GALORE :

http://eargasimsgalore.blogspot.com/2008/04/stereoheroes-are-here-to-save-australia.html

"StereoHeroes werent always heroes purs?, they were once two normal producers/deejays from france battling the daily grind, trying to get ahead in life, that was until one unforgettable night when producing there next track, they devised a sound so unique, so unbelievably good, that when listened to, you cant help but DANCE... With this sound the duo set out to save people all over the world with there jaw dropping, eargasmic music to save people on the dance floor!
