Where do you usually play in the UK, and what's your favourite venue - and why?
At the moment, I've got no resident place. I've played most of the big clubs in England and Europe that you've heard of over the years, but the memorable club i loved to play was Paradise Club (in London home to the legendary A Way of Life (AWOL) sets) and of course the famous Bluenote – home of the Metalheadz cru, post 1996-1998 in Old Street, EC1 area of London. Good times indeed...!
2. Have you played Hong Kong before? If so, where did you play and what was it like?
Na this is my first time, so I'll be soaking up the vibes and culture, as we haven't got long there.
3. What and where is the best gig you've ever played - and why?
It has to be an event in Leyton, east London in 1991 called Living Dream . 10,0000 in the tent, I was playing. (Techno DJ) Colin Dale didn't turn up so had to do two hours... loved every minute of it – who wouldn't? LOL.
4. Who's your biggest influence in music - and outside music - and why?
Without a doubt the real hip hop era of 83/84, Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, etc... the way they were as a movement and what they believed in. And of course (hip hop legend) KRS 1, the Teacher. 'Top shotters' is wot the kids say nowadays...LOL.
5. If you weren't a DJ, what would you be doing now?
To be honest, I don't know. I was too focused on what me and my crew wanted to do (Coolhand Flex Uncle22, Lenni Die Ice, Timmy Magic (Dream Teem) – say no more…
6. London's seen as the centre of jungle and DNB - where else are the best DNB/jungle scenes?
Basically the web has made this scene a worldwide thing. D&B Arena, Dogs on acid etc have brought the music to the masses and have schooled a lot of artists that are still coming out of the woodwork every two weeks.
