Utah Jazz Biography:

Luke Wilson, AKA Utah Jazz, is one of the original liquid funksters. He got into Drum & Bass whilst still at school, inspired by LTJ Bukem & Alex Reece and his DJ career soon blossomed ? randomly adopting the name 'Utah Jazz' from the US Basketball team to showcase his preference for the mid 90s 'Jazz-Jungle' sound.

A trail of amazing 12's followed on Good Looking, Hospital & his own Fallen Angels imprint, but for his debut album Utah Jazz has chosen Liquid V, an offshoot of Bryan Gee's seminal V Recordings, the first home of Roni Size & DJ Marky.

This album might have taken over ten years before surfacing, but it is well worth the wait. Over 12 tracks & a few lovingly crafted interludes, Utah Jazz shows with brilliance why Drum & Bass and funk are such a match made in heaven.

The soulful and uplifting 'Feeling Inside' sets the tone, & the 12" sampler 'Back In Time', currently making waves at 1-Xtra & Kiss, leaves no doubt this LP is the soundtrack to a summer party. With the help of some well chosen samples and a great sense of lush textures, Utah Jazz has created beautiful, varied music packed with awesome energy.

Check the James Bond-esque vibe of 'Mesmerize', the vintage Drum & Bass tones of 'The Message', the sleazy funk of 'Funkless life', the Reggae-inspired 'Riddim Track', the infectious closing 'Acoustic Jam' & you will want to start all over again.

About Kay C
Kay C started to listen Drum n? Bass Music since 1997, began working with Phreaktion, a Drum N Bass crew in Hong Kong in 2003. He began playing as a resident at Konkrete Jungle, a monthly event held at the legendary Amnesia at that time. The first time he supported the international dj gig is for Marcus Intalex, the god father of roller.

Kay C is currently one of the members in Magnetic Soul, which he joined in May 2005. Magnetic Soul has become a household name in Hong Kong associated with all things Drum N Bass. They have organized several monthly events, one off events, and brought several International Drum N Bass DJs into Hong Kong.

Since this time with Magnetic Soul he has supported artists such as Dieselboy (Human Imprint) Nu:Tone (Hospital Records), SUV (Playside), Sonic (Space Recordings), Pendulum(Breakbeat Kaos), Fabio(Creative Source), TC1 & Stress Level (Dispatch Recording)

Outside of supporting International DJs, he has also shared deck duties with Magnetic Soul regional guests from around Asia, which include DJ Low (Kuala Lampur, Malaysia), Vortex (exitmusik.com, Singapore), Dragon (Homebass communications, Bangkok), and Zul (Subvert Headquarters, Singapore), and now he is the resident dj of monthly event Format present by Magnetic Soul at Hong Kong's favorite DJ Bar - Yumla (http://www.yumla.com).

Kay C's fills the dancefloor and keeps the punters there with a diverse style of Drum N Bass that ranges from rollers and anthems to dubwise and the heavier side of Drum n? Bass.
