Who are you biggest current influences, and who were your initial influences when you first got into music?
My initial influences for production/DJing were Alex Reece, Wax Doctor, PFM, LTJ Bukem, Adam F, Photek, Fabio, Grooverider, Frost, Bryan G, Omni Trio, Flyronix, Roni Size, DJ Die etc etc.
My current influences are my girlfriend, my family and all my friends, who unfortunately I don't get to see enough these days! Music-wise, most stuff from Hospital Records, Good Looking, High Contrast, Chase & Status, Sigma etc, plus some harder bits too from great dancefloor artists like Sub Focus Taxman & Hazard... Anything goes.
2. What and where was the best gig you've ever played?
I really can't narrow it down to one, but when I was 19 I played the prime time slot in room 1 (the main room) at Fabric (in London), which was amazing. I was SO nervous. I also remember a gig in Spain a few years ago, in a great club by the beach with 1000+ people.
3. What are you into apart from DJing?
Chilling out! Cooking, going to the pub, playing pool, hanging out with friends.
4. Do you have any other job apart from DJing? Is that what you'd be doing if you weren't DJing?
No, DJing/producing is my full-time profession. I really haven't got a clue what I'd be doing otherwise!
5. Have you played Hong Kong before - if so, how was it?
No, this is my HK debut and I'm really looking forward to it...
6. What about other places in Asia? (I see you're playing in Seoul after you play HK)
I've played in Singapore before and Kuala Lumpur - both in 2005. I love the enthusiasm in Asia for D&B and I think there's a very healthy scene.
7. Who have you been most happy/proud to have attend one of your gigs?
Not sure really. Generally it's more the other DJs I'm playing with. So, for example, this Friday (after an album launch party in Birmingham) I'm also playing the last set at 4:30-6am at Fabric/Logical Progression after LTJ Bukem, which will be an absolute honour for me.
8. Who would you most like to invite to your gig and/or afterparty - and why?
I'm not really into the whole 'VIP' thing or who it's 'cool' to hang out with, if you know what I mean! I'd like to invite anyone who reads this who likes a good time and who likes all the different styles of D&B and just feel-good party music. See you on 08.08.08!
