About DJ Carl Kennedy www.carlkennedy.com

Born in Birmingham, England, Kennedy made the bold move to New York when he was 20 with his eyes set on the bright lights of big city life.

In 1998 Carl scored his first professional break, becoming the resident DJ for a small house party called GBH which later went on to become one of New York?s most prominent and longest running Friday night events.

2000 saw Carl move with GBH to Centro-fly (voted America?s no.1 club in 2001/2002), which saw him perform alongside heavyweights like The Chemical Brothers, Roger Sanchez, Dimitri from Paris, Seb Fontaine, and Erick Morillo. Then in 2003, when Pete Tong hosted his ?Essential Selection? show live from Centro-fly, people on both sides of the Atlantic had a chance to hear Carl at work, as he pieced together his own blend of sexy beats and soul-satisfying sonics.

Carl tours regularly throughout every continent across the globe and is a firm favourite at Ibiza?s famous Pacha and Space Terrace. He?s also performed at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami and the Budapest Love Parade in Hungary. It?s Australia though, where the DJ-producer calls his second home. After mixing the critically-acclaimed Onelove vol.2 compilation CD in 2005 with local gun Grant Smillie of TV Rock fame, Kennedy has become a firm local favourite. The man now spends up to six months a year in his adopted country. Having snared a residency at Sydney?s no.1 club Famous, he also tours the country stopping in at regional towns and the other major cities along the way.

Kennedy has been nominated as ?Best Breakthrough DJ? at 2004?s Dance Star Awards in Miami, but his devastating skills don?t end when he exits a nightclub. His stunning 2004 cut ?The Love you Bring Me? still remains the highest ever selling single on Roger Sanchez?s prestigious Stealth imprint, having been an Essential New Tune on the UK?s Radio 1, and ?Tune of the Month? in Tong?s Essential feature in Mixmag. 2005?s ?Right Before My Eyes? offering on Toolroom was also picked up by Ministry of Sound?s behemoth off-shoot Data Records. Likewise 2007?s soulful gem ?Ride the Storm? Feat Roachford has been causing a stir since January, making it one of the biggest tunes of the WMC and the Ibiza circuit. A highlight being a live PA by Roachford on Radio 1 weekend from the most glamorous club in the world Pacha, Ibiza, for the biggest night of the season Pure Pacha and David Guetta?s ? F**k me I?m Famous?. Pete Tong said it best, when he proclaimed ?Life is beautiful when you find records like this.? Always planting new seeds for future prosperity, Kennedy has also stretched his dance industry wings out to start up stellar new imprint Wasted Youth. The label?s philosophy is simple; a ?label run by artists for artists?.

2008, and Carl shows absolutely no sign of slowing down any time soon. In February he mixed the accompanying album for the Australian Future Music festival along with Robbie Rivera. His Wasted Youth label scored a global smash with Marco Demark?s ?Tiny Dancer? which was supported across the board by the likes of Pete Tong (who named it as an Essential New Tune), Erick Morillo and Tiesto and achieved a number #1 slot on DMC?s Mainstream and Club charts, Music Weeks?s Club and Pop charts and Italy?s national chart. After recently headlining Romania?s biggest festival ?Liberty Parade? and rocking the Future Music Festival in Australia (which was attended by over 100,000 people) Carl is currently locked down in the studio in preparation for an imminent relocation back to UK, ready to administer a taste of what crowds, the world-over have been flocking to experience.

A man whose passion for house music is only rivalled by the hoards of clubbers who flock to catch his exquisite DJ sets, the spinner maintains a distinctive style all his own incorporating sounds across electro, tribal, soul and funk. Carl Kennedy is a man with a sixth-sense for what makes dancefloors move and possesses an uncanny ability to hit the sonic sweet spot time and time again. Indeed, it would seem that music aficionados across the globe are too, discovering his innovative style and not wanting to let go.

About M1NT
M1NT is an exclusive members club offering a limited amount of invited individuals to apply to become shareholders. M1NT was founded in 2004 by Mr. Alistair Paton, from Australia. His concept came from the proven philosophy that ownership encourages patronage. M1NT started in London with rave reviews and very quickly received attention from the international media and social elite, along with some of the world?s most recognized celebrities. With a proven model the decision was taken to focus M1NTs expansion on the explosive market of China.
M1NT Hong Kong opened in 2006 to a blaze of publicity and is located at 108 Hollywood Road Central. Shareholders received dividends beyond company projections, according to the 2007 Hong Kong Shareholders report shares traded at 80% higher than when the club opened.
M1NT Shanghai will be the largest M1NT venue to date, and will feature a fine dining restaurant as well as a signature M1NT club. Due to the exclusive nature of M1NT, most features of M1NT Shanghai as well as its list of celebrity shareholders is confidential and has met with much speculation in the local and international media. October 04 2008 is the targeted grand opening date according to the M1NT press release, we will have to see then.
