Igor’s Group launches Pickled Pelican, two premium English-style pubs this month in contrasting city and beach settings. Located on Wyndham Street, Central’s newest dining and entertainment stripe, and Stanley Main Street, where you can relax with a beer and take in the scenic sea view, Pickled Pelican offers a range of specialty beers, ales and classic English pub food. A special feature is a menu of Scottish whiskies for connoisseurs.
The Wyndham Street outlet is the perfect venue to wind down with a drink after work, or converse, make a visit for a light lunch. The long bar is decorated with ornate, carved wood columns and the interior is furnished in dark wood, complemented by deep leather seats and sofas. Sport programmes stream from the large plasma screens, with broadcasts from ATL, STAR SPORTS and ESPN.
At the Stanley branch, the ground floor-level is perfect for people watching, while the expansive second floor also offers its own bar as well as a pool table. Customers can opt for a quiet drink while enjoying the scenic sea view, or join in for a snooker match at the other end. The interior is decked out in traditional turned-wood furniture, with quaint wood ducks, vintage beer steins and games’ trophies.
Both outlets have a menu featuring much-loved English pub food. These include Paprika-dusted deep-fried white bait, Deep-fried camembert with berry piccalilli, Barley Soup with Lamb and Guinness, Baked potato with filling, English Bap with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Other highlights include All-day breakfast with bacon, sausage, eggs & beans, Bangers and mash with onion gravy, Fish & Chips with tartar sauce, Beef and mushroom pie with chips, and Lemon meringue pie.
