The Guardian analysed the longevity of rock stars including Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones and Neil Young with the declining quality of their musical output this week and concluded it happens ‘perhaps because most musicians have a finite number of ideas’.

"What does seems to be true of everyone from Bob Dylan to David Bowie is that, as musicians age, their creativity starts to fade', the newspaper continued, an assertion club legend Jagz Kooner agreed with.
“Yes I think that's a fair assumption,” the erstwhile Sabres of Paradise and Aloof producer told Skrufff.

“Speaking personally, now I'm no longer in a band and producing other artists, I would say I'm being creative in a different way and I’d like to think I’m still being as creative,” he smiled.

As well as producing albums for the likes of Radio 4, Manic Street Preachers, Primal Scream, Jagz remixed tracks for Oasis and Massive Attack, a diversity similarly by Tim Healey. Starting out making psy-trance in the early 90s as Quirk (with Mark Allen) he switched to electro-house in 2003l breaking through with Coburn in 2005 with global hit ‘We Interrupt This Programme’. 15 years since he started, he similarly said he considers his ‘old creative juices are still burning strong’  and said he has no concerns about running out ideas.

“I’ve never had creative block - but then I don't just program house music all day/night long like some people,” Tim told Skrufff.

“I have scored TV shows, adverts and produced tracks for pop-acts, indie bands, hip-hop artists and within dance have produced dub-step, disco-house, breaks, tech funk etc etc. etc. If I didn't do that I would be in an asylum by now,” he added.

Peaches also addressed the implications of ageing in an interview with US portal this week in which she was magnanimous about Lady Gaga copying her image and electroclash flavoured persona to becoming a worldwide star.

“She has television as her outlet, which I don't. They don't want me on TV because I’m old, I don't know, I'm weird,” Peaches mused.

“But the people are able to see Lady Gaga's performance on TV—like 12-year-old kids—have an alternative in a very polished diva that exists,” she added. “That’s cool for 12-year-olds, and when they turn 15, they find Peaches.”

Tim Healey’s new label Giant Pussy Records has just released Tim & Felguk’s new single Rio, with upcoming releases from Tomcraft & Tim Healey feat DJ Assault.,35276/ (Peaches in full: There are so many people who have been influenced by me—so many record companies throughout the years have told bands to be more like me, and so many things I've done are pioneering . . .’)
