Tiesto credited US pop star Kanye West with relighting his passion for dance music this week, telling Spinner he was more than a little fed up two years ago.
"At the end of the trance period, I felt like I'd seen enough of this,” the superstar trance DJ admitted, “I was falling asleep more,” he confessed.
The US$20million a year Dutch dance star said he’s also been inspired by the hordes of new producers making dance music, predicting some will soon discover new sounds.
“Because everyone can make dance music now so it's very hard to stand out,” Tiesto pointed out.
“It's so easy to copy each other; as soon as somebody comes with a great song, all the others are kind of making the same thing,” he mused (Spinner: http://aol.it/m4rkZT )
In another interview with Canadian portal WhatsUpPub.com, meanwhile, he also revealed he’s started referring to himself in the third person, in an aside describing the music on his latest CD “Club Life: Volume One Las Vegas”.
“It’s a new sound! But it’s still Tiësto,” said Tiesto, “the haunting vocals, the melodies – still influences from earlier in my career. I could have easily made a double CD with all the music I had.” (http://bit.ly/lIh1CL )
