Tell us a little bit about how you got started as a DJ / Producer? Who was your biggest inspiration?

We started doing parties & setting up our own label Cassette Records before making music. We got into producing shortly after that, we wanted to put out records that had the sound that we wanted to hear in the clubs. We've been dj'ing since forever. Ever since we started listening to music really.

Waow, loads Ron Hardy probably is the biggest, just the way he fused all sorts of weird music together & accidentally (?) created a whole new genre of music.

Will this be your first time in Hong Kong?  Is there anything that you are looking forward to doing or seeing in particular?

We've played in Hong Kong once before. It was great! Really looking forward to this one. This time we really wanna check outthe older parts of HK, markets, weird places !!

How do you feel that DJing and producing has changed over the last few years?

The advent of new technology always change DJing & producing, last few years we've seen an influx in computerized DJ gear especially. You can have all the equipment you want but you have to still have the right song ammunition & feel for when to drop what, technology can't replace that. Once you got the tunes & vibe then technology will help delivering it for sure !!! It's all good, just use it wisely.

What was your favourite memory of 2012 and what do you have planned for 2013?

For PJU it was the 3 releases we did this year: Get Down (Special CCCrash Mixxx), Mr Overtime feat Dave1 & Feels Good (W Dubka & Saint Saviour). We're happy & proud of all of them. 2013 is the year for the PJU album & live show. We will be locked up in the studio all Jan & feb working working.Watch out !!!

What can we expect from your upcoming performances at W Hong Kong on New Years Eve?

Energy, fun & quirky party vibes !!

Aside from your DJ equipment, name your top three touring essentials.

Books, a good read !! It keeps you sane haha. Swedish snuff tobacco (snus) for long flights and 10 pack Alka-Seltzer.

Do you have any pre gig rituals?

40 push ups haha NOOO, a few vodka lime & sodas though to get in the mood probably... One backstage room had a massive VHS library full of oldmusic videos, we spent an hour watching old 80/90s acid/house/dance videos, that was a good pre gig ritual!

Who in your opinion are the best up-and-coming producers at the moment?

Earl Grey, Funboys, Mickey, A.N.D.Y., Attar! Jozif, Daryl, Future Feelings

If you weren’t a DJ/Producer what would you be doing?

We would probably be doing something similar still, behind the scenes. If there still were record shops we would probably be runningone, or a clothes shop !!
