December 1 is World AIDS Day and you can show your support and help AIDS Concern in its mission to keep HIV prevalence in Hong Kong low by getting involved in this year's activities.
World AIDS Day has been commemorated since 1988 to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS across the world, and to encourage the public to show support for people living with it.
As the first non-governmental HIV/AIDS organization in Hong Kong, AIDS Concern is organizing a series of activities this year to mark the day. Proceeds will support its youth programme to provide sexual education for young people in the fight for an AIDS free generation.
AIDS Concern invites you to join hands in its quest by supporting the following World AIDS Day events this year.
Dress in Red
The Red Ribbon is the universal symbol for the fight against AIDS with the colour symbolizing passion. By wearing one, you and your friends will help to support the human rights of people living with HIV and promote HIV education, prevention and research on HIV/AIDS.
Show your support for World AIDS Day by encouraging your work mates and friends to wear a red ribbon and dress in red to spread the message. Fill in the AIDS Concern donation form to support their work. With any donation over $50, you will receive a red ribbon pin to wear on December 1. All proceeds will support AIDS Concern's programme of sex education for vulnerable youth to achieve zero new HIV/ AIDS infections.
