Opened in December 2014, Chateh is operated by Hong Kong-based hospitality group Buick Management, synonymous with Chiu Chow cuisine in Hong Kong since launching Pak Loh Chiu Chow in Causeway Bay in 1967.
The group has since become one of Hong Kong’s most popular chain of restaurants, with Pak Lok Chiu Chow in Times Square, K11 and Elements, as well as Moon Lok Chiu Chow in Citygate and Moon Lok Chinese Restaurant in Xiqu Centre.
Chateh launches the group’s latest concept with a more contemporary style at Mira Place One, serving traditional Chiu Chow home-style dishes designed for sharing, family-style.
Catering to the evolving tastes of a new generation of Hong Kong diners, the menu includes many dishes served tapas-style as snacks as Pan-fried Baby Oyster Omelette, and Deep-fried Bean Curd Roll Stuffed with Shredded Radish.
While modern in outlook, interior design respects the roots of its cuisine; reminiscent of Chiu Chow villages in southern Guangdong, styled in natural wood colours with sea and river-life elements reflecting seafood’s considerable importance in the cuisine.
