Thank F*ck It’s Thursday Presents: Unity Jam

Unity Jam is a Hip-hop gathering to further education and growth with the Hip-Hop Community. Unity through Hip Hop is what Unity Jam is all about. Originally begun by the Shaka Zulu Kings, Unity Jam Asia this year consists of 6 DJs: DJ Don Martinez, DJ Enso and Yao, DJ Gruv, DJ Aych and more DJs to be announced who will be spinning great Hip-Hop all night long. Their sets will be accompanied by a live performance and   MC-ing by EKORB and others. Come to PLAY on Thursday, May 1st for a truly unique musical experience.
Unity Jam provides a non-biased platform for fans to learn more about the genre and the participation Zulu Nations has with the culture. This is about music, art and culture and not about glorifying violence, money or guns. The five elements of Hip-Hop will be on full display: DJs, MCs, B-Boys, Graffiti and Hip-Hop knowledge.
Unity Jam musical performers include DJ Don Martinez, the multi genre French party-rockets and mixtape producer, famed for his annual Cannes appearances with artists such as P.Diddy, Busta Rhymes and Pharrell Williams.
MC EKORB aka Nivh Cage, a Tampa Bay USA Performer is well known in South East Asia’s underground hip-hop scene who has MC-ed with the likes of DJ Shortkutt and Q-Bery.
DJ Enso, founder of the Solos Record music label and Hong Kong’s infamous XXX Gallery has played alongside internationally known artists such as DJ’s Steve Aoki, A-Trak and Craze. Joining DJ Enso is Yao, whose musical palette ranges from Hip-Hop to soul and to electronic music. He has also shared the stage with artists such as Tyga, Diplo and De La Soul.
Break-dancers from Dragon Zulus UK & HK’s SuperBadd Zulu will perform an exclusive set for the crowd. Local graffiti artists will showcase their artistic skills, alongside a bilingual workshop on the art of the MC and DJ.
Thursday May 1st, Unity Jam Asia will be reintroducing the world of Hip-Hop to Hong Kong, where music is poetry and its art -form returns to its roots.
