Description

LUSHINGTON ENTERTAINMENTS is proud to announce Gorillaz on their first world tour and concert in Asia. The “Escape To Plastic Beach Tour” will land at the Hong Kong Asia World - Arena on 3 Dec 2010.

Gorillaz released their third album Plastic Beach in March of this year, and swept the charts around the world with fantastic reviews across the board. Gorillaz characters Murdoc, Noodle, 2D, Russell Hobbs escaped the underworld Kong ...Studios – home to previous Gorillaz multi-platinum chart toppers “Demon Days” and “Gorillaz” – to set up shop on a remote island in the Pacific. The new album features guests such as Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, Mos Def, Bobby Womack, De La Soul and many others. Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, both from legendary band The Clash, also appeared on the album and will be part of the tour to Hong Kong.

The live show is a wild and organic experience, with the Gorillaz band holding things down behind many featured artists and video animation, artwork and stage design by Gorillaz director collaborator Jamie Hewlett. In addition to Damon Albarn, Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, the Gorillaz live band also includes Mike Smith, Cass Browne, Jeff Wootton and Gabriel Manuals Wallace, as well as additional backing singers, brass sections, a full string ensemble and special guests. Artists that have performed in previous shows have included among others the likes of De La Soul, Bobby Womack, Booty Brown, Mos Def and UK Hip Hop stars Kano and Bashy.

With the live show based on the band’s three records, Hong Kong fans can look forward to a fantastic collision of dub, hip-hop, reggae, pop, punk, electronic and Cuban music, and hit singles such as “Clint Eastwood", "19-2000”, “Tomorrow Comes Today", “Demon Days”, “Dirty Harry””, and from their latest album, “Stylo” and “On Melancholy Hill”.
