ROBOT x Social Room x Records Collection present ROSCIUS (LIVE) - FR

During Art Basel week, come join us as Social Room, Robot and Records Collection collaborate to bring the talented multi-instrumentalist ROSCIUS to Hong Kong for some mid-week LIVE action!

After catching Rocsius' live set at Thailand's Wonderfruit Festival this past December, we were completely blown away by his sheer talent and ethereal sounds. Come see for yourself how he creates incredible soundscapes using a genius combination of both digital and analog instruments.

French born, London-based underground producer and live performer Roscius has spent the last year building an enviable reputation, with the release of his debut eps WMD#1 and WMD#2, as well as successful tours in both the Middle East and Asia.

Combining improvisation, live vocal sampling, bass lines looping and incredible percussion skills, Roscius creates a unique and absorbing soundscape, genuinely innovative and emotional. His travels around the world allows him to bring back to his studio some rare and bizarre traditional musical instruments, which he records, and uses in the same way as a DJ tweaks and triggers his drum machine. Bass lines made of a pitched vibraphone, filter effects created by water falling into a sink, real acoustic hi hats, Arabic tambourines, South American shakers and Asian bongos are now his trademark.

This is how Roscius creates “World Minimal Disco”, which you could interpret as a mixture of acoustic and intelligent dance music, organic techno and ethnic deep house. His two first releases were premiered on XLR8R and CLASH MUSIC, on the indie label Muta Music Records (Uk) in collaboration with Anglo Mgmt and Dispersion Pr, and supported by artists like Danny Daze, Mr G., Stacey Pullen (Jona Sul remix), Hugo Mendez (from Sofrito Tropical Discotheque) and Mawimbi crew, amongst others. Roscius also released a couple of remixes for artists such as The 2 bears (Southern Fried Records, Uk) and Suna (Pias, Fr). Recently, the east London based artist also released the “Refugee’s Waltz”, a free downloadable track dedicated to refugees across the world, with all proceeds going to charity.

After an impressive 2015 tour including headline shows in Paris (6B, Soukmachines), London, Beirut (C U NXT SAT, Beirut Jam Sessions), Cyprus, Beijing, Seoul, Vietnam, Wonderfruit Festival (Thailand), Arc and Unit in Tokyo, Time in Manila, and supporting artists like Neon Indian, Francesco Tristano, Dj Falcon, Rodion and Jon Hopkins, as well as concerts supported by DJ MAG Uk and Asia, Tempo Magazine, Tsugi, Mixmag, Status Magazine, Resident Advisor and Trax Magazine, Roscius is currently working on his debut LP, due out before summer 2016!
