If it’s true that music be the food of love, then Brickhouse has got a lot of love to give this April. April 19th gives birth to Minor Chords – an event combining the most important things in life – food, drink, art and music. With the theme of March all things Art, Brickhouse has carefully hand picked a group of acclaimed and up ‘n’ coming Hong Kong based artists to customise one ordinary acoustic guitar each and turn it into something extra-ordinary this April. The line-up for the show includes:
Danny Kostainos, Kristopher Ho, Evangeline Chan, Ross Turpin, Jaycee Kwok, Used Pencil, Richard Phipson, Shane Larsson, #Jiprip, Michael Kam, Jason Chan, Sabotage, Carmen Maldonado, Lee Taylor
Completely open to the artists’ interpretation, the only guideline given was they allow their creation to somehow be influenced by a song that they consider epically note-worthy – no other restrictions, no other limits. The group show will take place for one night only on Tuesday 19th April at Brickhouse. What’s more, the guitars will be for sale on the night, with all proceeds going to charity – one minor action of yours could strike a big chord with someone less fortunate. All profits from the sale of guitars will be donated to The Sovereign Art Foundation; a Hong Kong registered charity that raises money to help disadvantaged children using the arts as rehabilitation, education and therapy. With complimentary beer from 8pm and live music, join us for a night of eating and drinking with the artists and enjoying guitars - which no doubt will inspire. Because afterall, if music be the food of love, let’s play…..
