The Flying Elk Hong Kong by Björn Frantzén has introduced diners to its Nordic heritage with its signature playful twist on classic European comfort food. The restaurant is now expanding its offering with a new weekend Smörgåsbord brunch, including free flow drinks and music. Perched at the top of LKF, it makes the perfect place for hungry families searching for a weekend brunch option.
Available on Saturdays and Sundays, diners can choose between either three (HK $295 pp) or five (HK $395 pp) tasting dishes, plus one main course and a dessert. A Free Flow selection of beer, wine and cocktails is also available for an additional HK $195 pp. Handcrafted signature cocktails such as Spicy Orange and Gin & Tonic have been adapted from the restaurant’s Stockholm branch, infusing special liquors made in Sweden.
A new selection of tasting dishes have been created exclusively for the Smörgåsbord brunch, including:
Beetroot emulsion, horseradish
Chicken Liver Parfait
Pickled cucumber, Granny Smith
Shrimp Toast ‘Hommage’ Tore Wretman
Red onions, egg, brown butter
Sourdough and Crispread
Veal bacon, brown butter, truffle, crispy potato
Diners can also opt to add Poached Oysters served with smoked cream and shallots, or Vendance Roe, roe from freshwater whitefish found in the lakes of northern Europe, served with sour cream and onions.
Main course options include signature dishes from the restaurant’s a la carte offering such as Fish & Chips “TFE”, Veal Schnitzel “Björn Frantzén”, the Ox Ribs Rossini and “Frenchie” Beef Burger.
Dessert is a choice between a delectable “After Eight” Mint Chocolate, served with Blackberry crumble pie & liquorice anglaise, and Swedish Coffee & Tahiti Vanilla Crème Brûlée.
Brunch is now available to book via firstname.lastname@example.org, every weekend from HK $295 pp + 10% service charge.
